A) The Irrigation Network
The old Irrigation Network with the stone-made canal, the reservoir, and the side (auxiliary) canals, which led the water up to even our last, obscure, little plot, has been replaced recently with a modern Irrigation Network with piping and meters in every piece of land, something that will make things unbelievably easier for our fellow villagers and at the same time will contribute to saving this precious commodity called water. Simultaneously the forward-looking Irrigation Department of the village has managed to successfully conduct a drilling, which –fortunately –yields enough water so that the fields are irrigated also during the months of summer when the river dries up.
Â) “Krya Vrisi”
The historical “Krya Vrisi” (Cold Spring) of our village is located at the foot of a steep precipice in the east riverbank beneath the old village. Until 1950 it was the only fountain, used for both humans and animals. There is not a single fellow villager that does not have memories –mostly pleasant ones –related to our “Krya Vrisi”, which –being covered by the turpentine, poplar, and walnut trees –filled the landscape with a pleasant coolness for the people and the birds in the midst of the summer heat. But even when progress and technology brought running water in our houses, the “Krya Vrisi” did not cease to attract both young and old so that they would rest and calm down in its shadow and freshness. This Cold Spring of ours, the Community Council has decided to renovate and embellish. The projects for this purpose are already in progress. At the same time, beautification projects are also being done for our little river's bed, starting from the area of the Spring and reaching up to the bridge joining the two riverbanks and the east part of the village with the west one.
